Lois is an Arkansas artist with a background in database management and computer graphics.
She has worked with various mediums over the years and in 2003, Lois began to seriously study art. Her favorite medium is soft pastels.
In 2004, Lois and several other pastel artists joined together to organize the Arkansas Pastel Society. Since then she has served as Publicity Chairman, Webmaster, President (2008-2009) and Secretary (2010).
Lois has won several awards in the past few years.
In 2006, Lois won the Purchase Prize Award at “Arts in the Air” at the Winthrop Rockefeller Center, Petit Jean, Arkansas for her painting, Petit Jean’s View. She also won Best of Show and Third Place at the Saline County Art Guild Show in Benton, Arkansas.
In 2007 she won 1st place in the Lone Star Pastel National Juried Show, Texas.
In 2008 she won 1st place in the Diamond exhibit in Hot Springs, Arkansas, and a 3rd place and honorable mention in the Saline County Art Guild Show.
Lois has been in numerous juried shows in Arkansas and Texas. She has also exhibited in the Aqua Viva, Oval Gallery, Garvan Gardens, Hot Springs Art Gallery, St. Vincent’s Doctors Hospital Women’s Gallery, Christ’s Episcopal Church in Little Rock, Region’s Bank in Benton. In 2009 she was a featured artist at Saline County Library and Christ Episcopal Church.
Lois is represented by the Ketz Gallery in North Little Rock, AR.
